It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
With a skiff of snow on the ground and Erick putting up the lights outside it's starting to look a little like Christmas. Last week we put up our Christmas tree and some decorations inside, but outside looked so drab and bare. Now we'll soon have a wintery wonderland. Pray for more snow.
Whole Again
I'm back! Boy I never knew how addicted I was to the computer until I went for more than 2 weeks without my own. I seriously didn't know what to do with myself after I had my housework done. At times I simply wandered around my house aimlessly. Not the easiest thing to do in my tiny house. Once I even found myself sitting down at the desk and staring at where the computer should go. :D I am now saved thanks to Dell who replaced our old laptop with a brand new one because the old one was overheating. Our files have been transferred thanks to my buddy Brandon and his mom. I owe them big. And we're up and running with the internet again. It's like I'm whole again. Now just to get the camera and printer set up so we can post and print pics. Hmmm I think I better get Erick on that.
We're having a great holiday season so far. Amazingly Myelle hasn't pulled the tree down. Although she's pulled the ornaments off several times quickly bringing them to me and exclaiming "Uh-oh". Yeah I bet uh-oh. She's too cute to be mad at though. Now we're working on not opening presents until Christmas. So far so good, but I'm afraid I might run out of things to keep her occupied. She just cut her two top teeth finally! What a great Christmas present for Mom.
I've made a few new recipes. My cheesecake sadly did not turn out. It tastes good, but the texture is all wrong. I'll have to try again. I've also made a Chocolate Mint Christmas Pie. Delicious! My goal tomorrow is to get going on Fudge and Soda Cracker Candy. (Drool)
Erick is as usual loving his job. He's been kind of promoted I guess you could say. He's now building man doors. Gorgeous ones too. Right now he's working on some bamboo ones. I'm hoping he'll get some pics to post.
It's a busy time of year or rather our lives are becoming crazy busy. With holiday parties and preparations, work, friends and family, and now I have athletes training I'm finding very little time to breathe. LOL But it's totally worth it. We hope that ya'll are having as much fun as we are. Our love goes out to you.

Turkey Coma
Hope ya'll had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Mine was absolutely delightful! And despite my worries that all would be quiet at the inlaws it was just right. With my sister-in-law's family there and Erick's cousin's family it was a lot more lively than when it's just us. Thank you to them and thank you to my wonderful mother-in-law for putting up with us all.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Can you believe that it is already Thanksgiving? This year has just flown by. We are at Grandma and Grandpa Wood's house this year. A completely different style of dinner than I'm used to but rather nice. Until I got married my Thanksgiving dinners consisted of getting together with either my mom's family or my dad's family. Mom's family is huge so the most efficient way to serve everyone is to go buffet style. Dad's side is a little smaller, but buffet style works good for that side also. We eat off of paper plates with plastic silverware and drink from plastic cups. The noise is almost deafening from all the cousins chattering and the adults catching up. A joke is cracked almost every other sentence. Laughter abounds and thus food gets digested faster. Who's up for seconds? Or in my case thirds because no one notices when you get up for the third time to fill your plate.
A complete turn around, dinner at my inlaws is wonderful, but very quiet. For loud boisterous me I have to make sure I'm on my best behavior. No telling stories that could make someone blow stuffing out their nose because they're laughing so hard. We all sit around the table and the food gets passed around. Everyone eats such small amounts that I feel a little out of place with my over hearty appetite. Hey it's Thanksgiving! But how does it sound when I say for the third time "Please pass the turkey....again." :D LOL Mom and I joke that after a few years after the food has gone around they'll say "Just pass it all down to Audra....she'll need it in a minute." Oh well. I'm working on decreasing my appetite, but Thanksgiving isn't the time to do it. I even scheduled dental surgery on Monday before so that I wouldn't be able to eat much, but I'm able to eat just fine.
Whether you have a boisterous get-together or a quiet sit down dinner, I wish you all the happiest Thanksgiving. I am very thankful for all of my family especially Erick's family. They are so good to me and welcome me with open arms. I can't complain. May we all reflect on what we're most thankful for and let the Lord know. God bless you this wonderful holiday season.

Missing In Action
Hello~ We've been MIA as of late. And probably will be for a bit longer. I've had pneumonia and just haven't felt up to keeping up with anything except the necessities. Next Erick was home from work this last week from we don't know what but he is extremely sick. The doctors are running tests and we'll know more on Monday...hopefully. Now our darn computer went down again. I don't think we'll ever buy a Dell computer again. GRRRR! Monday I also get the pleasure of driving to Twin Falls to uncover my dental implants. I might just get teeth in time for Christmas!
In the meantime I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving and we hope to get together with ya'll later this holiday season! I need to start gathering addresses for Christmas cards. Can you believe it's that time of year already? Craziness!

My Beautiful Baby Girl
I can't believe that she's 14 months old! Time flies by so quickly. If only I could capture those moments again. At times I miss holding that tiny, tiny baby in my arms. Now I have to run to keep up with her. With so much energy she is definitely our bundle of joy! Above are a couple pics my bro took the other day.
Autumn
Can I just tell you that I LOVE Fall? Nothing is better. Okay, maybe Winter, but Fall takes a close second. There's just something about the leaves crunching beneath your feet, the crisp air when you step outside and the gorgeous sunsets! What a beautiful world we live in and what a better time to sit and take it all in? May we take the time to thank God for all that He has given us.

Feeling Homemakery
Hahaha I think I just made that word up. Well actually my mom did because her and I both use it. :D But back on topic. I have the biggest urge to stay at home and bake and cook and clean and organize my house. I also want to break out my new sewing machine and get started on some Christmas projects. Boy do I have some good ones planned. I'm so stoked to get started on them. Don't you just love the feeling of being able to hand someone a present that you made yourself?
Speaking of which isn't it also so nice to be self sufficient? I hate going to the grocery store and if I could grow it all in my garden I would, but sadly I do have to make trips to the grocery store. Now I try to shop local but my budget is having a hard time with that because of the rising prices. Unfortunately, I have to go to Walmart. :( Now don't get me wrong...Walmart is great, but I know that as soon as any of our local businesses went under they would be jacking the prices sky high. When I do go to Walmart I try to go to the one in the next town over because they have cheaper prices than the one I drive by for work. How crazy is that?
Ok enough rambling for tonight, my bed is calling my name and I've been complaining that I'm not getting enough sleep. My cold is practically forcing my eyes shut and I still need to read my scriptures. Goodnight!

Tis the season
Today it snowed and I feel like breaking out the Christmas music, baking holiday goodies, and snuggling up with a cup of cocoa and a good book. I had to run over to my mom's house and my brothers and sisters were dancing around to Christmas music. :D Too funny, I guess it runs in the family. I've actually been quite impressed with myself this year as I have not yet turned on the Christmas music. In previous years I've had to restrain myself from turning it on before September 1.
Speaking of the holidays though...are you ready? I love the holidays and I'm super excited for this year. With Myelle being 18 months she's gonna be so much fun! Although I'm going to have to decorate my tree 2 feet from the bottom and up. LOL I have most of my Christmas shopping done and now I'm getting ancy to wrap them up and put them under the tree. :D I'm such a sap for cozy holiday scenes.

Mommas and sleep
It doesn't happen. Okay so it's my first time being a mom. My poor baby girl cried and cried last night and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. After trying a number of things she finally fell asleep for good, but guess who couldn't now. :P Drifting off into a fitful sleep I finally caught some zzz's just in time for the alarm to go off. I shut it off thinking I'd sleep in since I was up all night. But nooo guess who woke up too? You guessed it. Myelle was up and at 'em bright and early. Guess that's what comes with being a mom.
But I wouldn't trade her for anything. :D

My First Blog Post
Okay, after Bethany emailed me with her blog and I read it I just had to start my own. Bethany has always been an inspiration as long as I've known her.
So Life in the Woodshed as we know it. Erick and I have been married 2 1/2 years. We have a beautiful 1 year old girl. Erick is building and installing furniture and cabinets and loving it! I am a Full time Mom, part-time waitress, and part time track coach. Loving all but the many wait hours I have to work. But ya do what ya gotta do.
We live a simple and frugal life, at least we try to, so one day we'll be able to own our own house. :D I think I'm gonna have fun with this bloggin thing. Ya'll wish I would shut up. Toodles!
